"He, being made perfect in a short time fulfilled a long time for honourable
age is not that which standeth in length of time nor that measured by
number of years."

To the Glory of God and in thankful remembrance of William Webb Spicer for 24 years
Rector and patron of this parish. Born Sept 6th 1820. Died April 28th 1879.
And of Dorothea, his wife. Born Feb 14th 1830. Died March 21st 1910.
Also of Frederick John Simson son-in-law of the above. Born May 18th 1838. Died July 2nd 1901.
And of his son Noel Spicer Simson, Capt. R.G.A. Born July 17th 1881.
He was one of the old army, who served from Mons, until he laid down his life
for England near Ypres on Sept. 26 1915.
This tablet is erected by their Daughter - Wife - Mother.

To the dear memory of William Waters Vokes 1/4th Hampshire Regiment (Territorials)
Only son of David and Annie Vokes. He was taken prisoner April 1916 by the Turks
after the fall of Kut and died in their hands at Afion Kara Hissar September 1916. Aged 28.
"Let the sorrowful sighing of the prisoners come before thee."
"The ransomed of the Lord shall return with songs and everlasting joy and sorrow and sighing shall flee away."

2nd Lt. 1st Battn. East Yorkshire Regt.
Beloved only son of
Malcolm Stuart & Edith E. Corrie
and husband of Gladys Kathleen
(Daughter of Alive A. & William Fiddian M.A.; I.C.S.)
Born 12th April 1887.
Wounded by shell fire 9th April 1917
in the battle of Arras, France.
Died in hospital at Le Touret 23rd April 1917.

This banner was hung at the commemoration of the heroic deeds
of the first seven divisions. Held in London Dec 15 1917.
It is dedicated to the gallant memories of
Noel Spicer Simson Capt. R.G.A. commanding 21st Anti Aircraft Section,
Kenneth Watson Harvey Lieut. R.F.A. and the men who fell with them
on 25 and 26th Sept. 1915 during the battleof Loos.
Went the day well? We dies and never knew
But well or ill - England we died for you.

Thomas Corrie Rutherfoord,
Major (A/Lt Colonel) Indiam Medical Service.
Husband of Mary Frances Rutherfoord
and eldest son of T.B. and H. Rutherfoord.
Born 13th November 1878.
Died of malaria while in command of 11th Cavalry
Brigade Field Ambulance, on 18th October 1918, and
buried in the military cemetery, Beirut, Syria. He sailed
from England 11th August 1914.and served continuously
abroad until his death during the final stage of
Sir Allenby's advance through Palestine and Syria.
"He hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to
proclaim liberty to the captives,and the opening
of the prison to them that are bound." Isaiah LXI.1

David Geoffrey Corrie Rutherfoord
(A/Major) Capt. Royal Field Artillery.
Third son of Thomas B & Harriette Rutherfoord.
Born 18th Sept. 1884.
Killed in action 17th April 1916
at Beit-Aiessa, Mesopotamia,
when in command of the 14th Battery R.F.A.
He served with that Bty. for ten years,
both in India & with the Indian Expdty. Force
in France from Oct. 1914 to Dec. 1915,
& was devotedly attached to it.

Captain, 1st Battalion The Border Regt.
Fifth son of Thomas & Hariette Rutherfoord.
Born 8th Nov. 1890.
Killed in action at Ismail Oglu Tepe, Sulva Bay,
Gallipoli, on 9th Aug. 1915,
while serving with the 6th (Service) Battn. of his Regt.
which he helped to organise and train.
